Rob Veltre Jr.

Rob brings more than 35 years of experience in developing mission-critical software systems for both defense and commercial sectors. He began as a Software Systems Engineer at Link Flight Simulation, where he honed his skills in software-hardware integration.

In 1988, Rob joined Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute. There, he helped create the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and led the first software process assessment at Air Force Space Command. He also contributed to real-time scheduling in Ada, providing a framework for concurrent execution.

In 1995, Rob co-founded Inmedius, Inc., delivering commercial and defense software solutions, including a revolutionary digital logging solution for the Navy’s nuclear propulsion program. Inmedius’ success, including projects like the Meteorological Anchor Desk, earned recognition in “Software Architecture in Practice.” The company was later acquired by Boeing’s Continental Data Graphics.

Now, as Senior Vice President for Technology at Shoulder 2 Shoulder, Rob continues to apply his deep expertise in leading-edge software development for defense applications.
